Conexion Promotes Dave Merrill to Chief Operating Officer

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND (February 7, 2008) – Conexion, leading provider of club management software and financial services for the fitness industry, today announced the promotion of Dave Merrill to Chief Operating Officer.  Mr. Merrill will have the primary responsibility for overseeing the management and operations of Conexion’s seven business units.

“Dave’s technology experience and business acumen has been a key part of our success, and he was no doubt the right person to assume this leadership position,” says Benson Fine, President/CEO of Conexion. 

With over 15 years experience in technology and business, Mr. Merrill’s most recent position was that of Conexion’s Chief  Technology Officer, where he managed all software development activities. At two previous software companies, he held roles including Chief Information Officer and Vice-President.

“Over the last twenty-four years, Conexion’s management has built a strong foundation supported by a passionate, service-oriented team.  I look forward to leading this team and further enhancing the services we provide our clients,” said David Merrill, Chief Operating Officer.

In recent years, Dave architected the software platforms for two of the world’s most recognizable gym franchisees; collectively the platforms are in use in over 450 locations across the world today. At age 15 Mr. Merrill became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional, and while at the University of Texas, he studied Electrical Engineering. 

Dave, an avid runner and member of multiple professional technology organizations, resides with his wife and children in Baltimore, Maryland.
